NMMC Trains 385 Women in Waste Management, Recycling
The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) held free training workshops for 385 women from local self‑help groups.
They learned how to sort and recycle waste, handle e‑waste, reuse plastic, make incense sticks from old flowers, and produce compost and biogas.
The classes were held in eight different ward offices across the city.
NMMC worked with Kaushalya Multicreations and the Durga Foundation to run the program.
After finishing, the women received certificates, hoping to start small businesses that help keep the city clean and give them new jobs.
NMMC organized skill workshops for 385 women from self‑help groups under Swachh Survekshan 2025‑26.
Training covered dry waste processing, 3R centres, e‑waste collection, clothing upcycling, plastic reuse, incense stick production, compost and biogas.
Sessions were held at eight ward offices across Navi Mumbai, free of charge.
The program was run by NMMC’s Solid Waste Management and Social Development Departments with Kaushalya Multicreations and Durga Foundation support.
Participants received certificates upon completion, aiming to boost sustainable livelihoods and community cleanliness.
