Decoding Bird Evolution: Mother Nature's Logic
Have you ever wondered why birds look the way they do?
Well, nature is pretty smart!
Some birds, like sparrows, dress alike because both parents help raise their babies.
Others, like peacocks, have bright colors because they're trying to impress the ladies.
Birds that need both parents to raise babies often have similar looks.
However, some birds don't stick around to help raise their chicks, so the ladies make the males wear all the fancy colours to get their attention.
They do this because they need to make sure that the males are worth the trouble and will spread their genes.
Nature is cool!
There are about 10,000 different species of birds.
Many bird species are monogamous, with both parents caring for offspring.
Monogamous birds often have similar appearances.
Some male birds have vibrant plumage to attract females.
Males that don't help raise young often display colorful features.
