INDIA Bloc Protests Alleged Vote Theft in Karimnagar

INDIA bloc parties held a protest in Karimnagar on Tuesday.

They said there were problems with the voter lists and supported Rahul Gandhi’s campaign against what he calls “vote theft.”

The protesters marched to the Collectorate and demonstrated there.

They also burned an effigy representing the prime minister, the home minister and the chief election commissioner.

The group sent a request to the central government asking for the chief election commissioner to be removed.

Congress leader Medipalli Satyam said a sitting Supreme Court judge should investigate.

Other leaders said removing people from voter lists could especially affect marginalised communities.

The protest took place during Democracy Protection Week.
