Maharashtra Voters Served Notices Need Not Attend Physical Hearings

Some voters in Maharashtra received notices about possible problems in the voter list.

They usually do not need to go somewhere in person for a hearing.

A Booth Level Officer can visit their home and collect their papers.

Voters can also send documents through WhatsApp.

They may submit papers at special camps on October 3, 4, 10 or 11.

Officials will use the papers or a verification report to decide each case.

An online hearing may happen if the papers are missing or unclear.

The voter or an adult family member can attend that hearing.

Officials were told to make sure eligible voters are not left off the list.
