EOW Arrests Sheetal Tejwani in Mundhwa Land Sale Case
The police have arrested a woman named Sheetal Tejwani for her role in selling a piece of land in Mundhwa, Pune.
This land, called Mahar watan land, was originally meant for a specific community and was being used by the government.
The land was sold to a company called Amadea Enterprises LLP, which is partly owned by the son of a high-ranking government official.
The police are investigating because they believe there were some problems with how the land was sold.
They have also named other people, including a government official who was suspended, in connection with this case.
The land in question is quite large, about 17 hectares and 51 ares.
The police are still looking into the matter and will present Sheetal Tejwani in court to decide what happens next.
Sheetal Tejwani was arrested by the EOW for her role in the sale of Mahar watan land in Mundhwa to Amadea Enterprises LLP.
The land, originally government-owned and leased to the Botanical Survey of India, was sold to a company partly owned by Parth Pawar, son of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
The FIR, registered on November 7 at Khadak police station, names nine accused, including Tejwani, Digvijay Patil, Ravindra Taru, and suspended tehsildar Suryakant Yewale.
The land parcel in Mundhwa is 17 hectares and 51 ares, and the case involves alleged irregularities in its sale.
A separate FIR has been registered at Bavdhan police station under the Pimpri Chinchwad police against Patil, Tejwani, and Taru.
