First Women Graduate from India's National Defence Academy
Seventeen women have graduated from India's National Defence Academy, marking a historic first.
After a 2021 court ruling, these women completed rigorous training, preparing to serve in the Army, Navy, or Air Force.
The training included tough physical challenges like climbing hills with weight and the 40 km Josh Camp.
These cadets, many from Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab, will now join the forces.
The event signifies progress in inclusivity and gender equality in the armed forces, with families celebrating this achievement.
The first batch of 17 women cadets graduated from the National Defence Academy (NDA).
The graduation followed a 2021 Supreme Court ruling allowing women to join the NDA.
Cadets will join the Army, Navy, or Air Force after further training.
The cadets underwent three years of intensive training, including physical challenges.
Most cadets hailed from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, and Uttarakhand.
