CBDT Prepares for Income Tax Act 2025 Rollout
The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) in India is getting ready to introduce a new tax law called the Income Tax Act 2025.
This new law will replace the old one from 1961 and will start on April 1, 2026.
The CBDT chairman, Ravi Agrawal, has asked all tax officials to work hard and be ready for this change.
They are making new rules, forms, and procedures.
The officials are also getting training to understand the new law.
The goal is to make the tax system better and easier for everyone.
They will use technology and data to help people follow the tax rules without too much trouble.
The CBDT is also focusing on being more helpful and trustworthy in their work.
CBDT is preparing for the implementation of the new Income Tax Act 2025, effective from April 1, 2026.
New rules, procedures, and forms are being formulated for the transition from the Income Tax Act of 1961.
Training and capacity building are underway to ensure officials understand the new law and can guide taxpayers.
The approach to tax administration is evolving to focus more on facilitation, trust, and service using technology.
