Reliance Industries Profit Falls 22% but Beats Estimates
Reliance Industries, a big company in India, recently reported its financial results for the last three months.
Their profit went down by 22.4% compared to the same time last year.
This drop happened because last year they had a big one-time gain from selling part of another company, Asian Paints.
But even without that gain, their regular profits went up by 6.1%.
The company made more money from selling oil and chemicals, and their telecom and retail businesses also did well.
The boss, Mukesh Ambani, said they had a good start to the new financial year, despite some problems in the world.
They spent a lot of money on new projects and reduced their debt.
Reliance Industries reported a 22.4% year-on-year decline in June quarter net profit to Rs 20,946 crore.
Revenue from operations rose 25.4% year-on-year to Rs 3,11,850 crore, beating estimates.
Ebitda increased 10.7% to Rs 47,517 crore, while Ebitda margin contracted to 15.2% from 17.3% a year ago.
The oil-to-chemicals business was the biggest contributor, with revenue up 30.4% and Ebitda up 17.2%.
Consumer businesses like Jio Platforms and Reliance Retail showed strong performance, with revenue growth of 12% and 7.4% respectively.
