Ganja and Fake Currency Racket Busted in Nellore
The police in Nellore found a group of people who were making and using fake money and selling a type of illegal drug called ganja.
They caught five people and found a lot of fake money and drugs in a rented house.
The main person in the group tried to run away but was caught.
The police also found out that the drugs were brought from another state called Odisha.
In a separate case, the NCB in Mumbai froze assets worth ₹4.11 crore linked to a drug kingpin involved in the seizure of 53 kg of ganja.
The kingpin, Sunil Nagesh Bhandari, is currently absconding and has multiple criminal cases against him.
Nellore rural police busted a gang involved in circulating counterfeit currency and transporting ganja.
Rs 37.50 lakh in fake notes and 22.4 kg of ganja were seized from a rented house in Dhanalaxmipuram.
Five accused were identified and arrested: Sheikh Hasan alias Munna, Karthik Reddy, Sheikh Riaz alias Iliyaz, Sheikh Mustafa, and Bellankonda Anil.
The gang procured around 25 kg of ganja from Odisha, with 3 kg already sold in small packets.
The prime accused, Sheikh Hasan, was apprehended after attempting to flee, leading to the raid and arrest of the other accused.
