SpiceJet Plans Fleet Expansion and Flight Increase
Imagine SpiceJet, an airline that has had its ups and downs, is getting ready to fly more often and add more planes to its fleet.
They plan to fly more than double the number of flights each day by mid-November.
To do this, they'll be adding new planes and fixing up some of the planes they weren't using.
This could help them make more money and get back to where they once were as a popular airline, as they plan to take advantage of their improved financial position to gain back some of the lost glory.
However, the airline's market share had decreased and its overall fleet had declined since 2015.
It is all a part of SpiceJet's effort to improve its finances after making an important deal with one of its big lenders.
SpiceJet plans to more than double daily flights to 300 by mid-November.
The airline aims to add 20 aircraft to its fleet by mid-November.
SpiceJet will bring back 10 grounded aircraft into service by April.
The company's passenger share dropped to 1.9% in June.
SpiceJet recently reached a settlement with Carlyle, its largest lessor.
