ICAR-IIRR Signs Four Licensing Pacts to Commercialize Rice Technologies
Scientists at the Indian Institute for Rice Research (IIRR) held a special meeting with companies that make and sell farming products.
They signed four agreements, which are like deals, with these companies.
These deals will help the companies take the new and improved rice seeds and farming ideas developed by the scientists and make them available to farmers.
The meeting also showed off new technologies like smart ways to test soil using computers and ways to grow rice that is better against tough weather and diseases.
The goal is to bring these new farming inventions from the lab to the farm faster.
ICAR-IIRR organized an Industry-Interaction Meet 2025 at its Rajendranagar campus.
Four licensing agreements were signed with private sector partners to commercialize rice technologies.
The event showcased innovations in genomics, gene editing, high-yielding and climate-resilient rice lines, and disease-screening facilities.
Exhibits included AI-based soil testing devices, automated irrigation systems, and novel rice-based products.
Discussions emphasized public–private partnerships and market-driven product development for agricultural technologies.
