Navi Mumbai Proposal Seeks Constitution Activities Across Schools

Navi Mumbai Proposal Seeks Constitution Activities Across Schools

A proposal has been sent to Navi Mumbai’s civic authority to teach children about the Indian Constitution.

It would cover students from Classes 1 to 10.

The lessons would explain rights, duties, democracy, equality and social responsibility.

Older students would also learn about Dr BR Ambedkar’s role in creating the Constitution.

Schools could hold readings, quizzes, essay contests and poster competitions.

Teachers would receive training to teach these topics.

Materials would be prepared in Marathi, Hindi, English and other school languages.

The programme has been proposed but has not yet been approved.
