TMCP Students Gherao VC, Demand Exam Rescheduling
Students from the Trinamool Congress's student wing (TMCP) are upset.
They want the University of Calcutta to change the date of two exams because they are on the same day as TMCP's big celebration.
The students want the exams moved so they can attend their event.
The university said no, it's not possible to reschedule the exams for every event.
Another student group, the SFI, thinks TMCP is being unfair, saying they shouldn't get special treatment.
The Chief Minister will also be at the TMCP celebration.
TMCP members gheraoed Calcutta University's interim VC, Shanta Dutta.
The gherao was in protest of two undergraduate exams scheduled on August 28.
TMCP requested rescheduling due to its foundation day on the same date.
University officials stated exams are not rescheduled for political events.
SFI criticized TMCP's demand, calling it a 'double standard'.
