CPM Kozhikode Meeting Confronts Crisis After Historic Kerala Defeat
The CPM is holding an important three-day meeting in Kozhikode.
It comes four months after the Left lost Kerala’s election badly.
The loss ended ten years of uninterrupted Left Democratic Front rule.
The party also lost places that had long been strongholds.
Many local workers want leaders to examine what went wrong.
Pinarayi Vijayan has blamed betrayal and misleading campaigns instead of problems in government.
Changes in voting patterns are helping the Congress and the BJP in different areas.
A corruption investigation involving the CMRL case has added more pressure to the party.
The CPM’s extended three-day Kerala state committee meeting begins in Kozhikode on September 13.
The meeting follows the Left Democratic Front’s crushing defeat after a decade in power.
Losses in Kannur, Payyannur and Taliparamba have intensified grassroots demands for accountability and reform.
Pinarayi Vijayan attributed traditional-seat losses to betrayal, misinformation and opposition influence rather than governance failures.
The CMRL case and shifting Ezhava, Dalit, Christian and Muslim voting patterns are deepening the party’s electoral crisis.
