Tawang Tourism Mart Invites China Amid India-China Territorial Dispute

Tawang Tourism Mart Invites China Amid India-China Territorial Dispute

India is holding a large tourism meeting in Tawang, a town in Arunachal Pradesh.

The meeting will take place from October 27 to November 1.

People from about 20 countries have been invited, including people from China.

The meeting is meant to help promote tourism in Northeast India.

Businesses, government officials and travel groups will discuss tourism opportunities.

Tawang is known for its monastery, mountains, Buddhist heritage and Monpa culture.

China claims Arunachal Pradesh, but India says the region is an integral part of India.

That makes Tawang a politically important place for a regular tourism event.
