Pooja Meri Jaan Review Finds Promise Undercut By Treatment
Pooja Meri Jaan is about a woman accused of killing her former boyfriend.
Pooja says she is not responsible, but the investigating officer believes she is guilty.
Her friend Sana tries to help her as a lawyer.
Sana does not know much about criminal law, which makes the case difficult.
The story presents Pooja as independent and comfortable making her own choices.
She dates several people and does not believe she must save or fix the men in her life.
The review suggests this idea is important because some people dislike independent women.
However, the reviewer thinks the movie does not handle its promising story as well as it could.
Pooja, played by Mrunal Thakur, is accused of killing her jilted boyfriend Aniket.
Pooja’s friend Sana, played by Huma Qureshi, serves as her lawyer despite lacking criminal-law expertise.
Investigating officer Jatin, played by Vijay Raaz, is convinced Pooja is responsible for Aniket’s death.
The film portrays Pooja as an independent woman with an active dating life and firm personal boundaries.
The review says the film’s promising premise and performance are weakened by its treatment.
