Dwarka Expressway Toll Collection Begins with Monthly and Annual Pass Options
Toll collection has started on a new highway called the Dwarka Expressway.
This means people have to pay a small fee to use the road.
If you live nearby, within 20 kilometers, there are special passes.
A monthly pass costs $340 and lets you go through 50 times, and a yearly pass costs $3,000 for 200 trips.
For everyone else, a single car trip costs $220, and a round trip on the same day is $330.
The road builders made sure to help the local people by keeping some lanes just for them for the first few days.
This helps everyone get their passes easily and avoids long lines.
Some people tried to argue about paying tolls, but the court said it's okay to have them, and people should just get the local passes if they live close by.
Toll collection has commenced at the Bijwasan Toll Plaza on the Dwarka Expressway starting Sunday morning.
Local residents within a 20 km radius can purchase monthly passes for Rs 340 (50 crossings) or annual passes for Rs 3,000 (200 trips).
The standard toll rate for a one-way car trip is Rs 220, with a return trip within 24 hours costing Rs 330.
Three lanes on each side of the expressway are reserved for local residents for the first three days to facilitate pass registration and ease traffic.
