Toshiba, SpeQtral and HPE Validate Quantum-Safe Network Protection
Toshiba, SpeQtral, and HPE say they tested a way to make some computer network connections safer against future quantum computers.
The approach is designed to work with IPsec VPNs that organizations already use.
It combines two methods: special codes designed to resist quantum computers and encryption keys created using quantum technology.
The companies say their test showed that the systems could work together securely.
SpeQtral led the work to connect the different products.
The approach is intended for organizations such as government agencies and operators of important infrastructure.
The companies say it can help improve protection without replacing existing network setups.
They plan to show the solution at a Singapore event in October 2026.
Toshiba Asia Pacific said it validated a quantum-safe communications solution with SpeQtral and HPE.
The solution combines Toshiba’s Quantum-secure Networking Platform with HPE Networking SRX Next Generation Firewall for existing IPsec VPN environments.
It combines post-quantum cryptography with quantum key distribution to provide quantum-safe key material.
SpeQtral led integration, and the demonstration verified interoperability and secure IPsec VPN operation.
The companies plan to showcase the solution at GovWare 2026 in Singapore from October 13 to 15.
