JD(S) says H.K. Patil's drought letter exposes Karnataka government inaction

Karnataka is facing a serious drought, meaning there has not been enough rain.

H.K. Patil, a Congress legislator from Gadag, said the government was not properly identifying drought-hit areas.

He also said some officials were not following government instructions about crop insurance.

The JD(S) used his concerns to accuse the Congress government of failing farmers.

The party questioned why 27 of 73 taluks in the Kittur Karnataka region had not been declared drought-hit.

Patil said he could resign if areas in his constituency were not recognised as drought-affected.

The JD(S) also complained that government messages were taking too long to reach officials.

The article does not include a direct response from the government to these allegations.
