India's Semiconductor Push: Chip Innovation, Mobile Exports Soar
India is working hard to make its own computer chips, the tiny brains that run all sorts of tech like phones and security cameras.
The government is spending a lot of money, over Rs 200 crore, to make these chips better and more efficient.
This effort is part of a bigger plan called the India Semiconductor Mission, which started in 2021.
India is also pushing for people to use products made in India, like the software suite Zoho, which over 12 lakh government employees are now using.
The goal is to make India self-reliant in technology, especially in making all the parts for mobile phones.
India is developing advanced chipsets for various applications.
The government will invest over Rs 200 crore in energy-efficient microprocessors.
The India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) was launched in 2021.
Over Rs 65,000 crore has been committed under the ISM.
