Devotees Witness Resplendent Ganesha Idol After Sindoor Lepan
In Mumbai, the Shree Siddhivinayak Ganpati Temple recently completed a special ceremony called 'Sindoor Lepan.'
During this ceremony, the idols of Lord Ganesha and Lord Hanuman were covered with fresh red vermilion to make them look bright and shiny again.
This process took place from January 7 to January 11, 2026, and the original idols were not visible to the public.
Instead, devotees prayed to replica idols outside the main sanctum.
On January 12, 2026, after the ceremony was finished, the temple opened its doors so that everyone could see the beautifully decorated idols.
This ritual is done to keep the idols looking vibrant and to allow devotees to have a special darshan of the resplendent deities.
