YSRCP Weighs Opposition Shift as Andhra Local Polls Near

Some local leaders are leaving the YSRCP and joining the TDP before local elections in Andhra Pradesh.

This could make it easier for the ruling alliance to win in some areas.

Some long-time TDP workers are unhappy because newcomers may receive party positions.

YSRCP leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has spoken with left-party leaders about working together on public issues.

The YSRCP may also oppose the government more often in Parliament.

However, this does not mean the party has decided to join the INDIA bloc.

Congress is not seen by the YSRCP as a strong partner in Andhra Pradesh.

Jagan may try to rebuild his party through a statewide walk next year.

The ruling alliance still expects to perform strongly in the local elections.
