Indian-Origin Tech Executive Among Climbers Killed in Washington
A group of climbers were descending a mountain in Washington when something went wrong.
Their anchor point, which held their ropes, failed, and they fell a long way down.
Sadly, three of the climbers died in the fall.
The only person who survived was able to get free and hike to a place where they could call for help.
The climbers were experienced and the area can be dangerous in bad weather.
Investigators are looking into what caused the anchor to fail.
Vishnu Irigireddy, a tech executive, was among three climbers who died in North Cascades.
The group fell approximately 200 feet after their anchor point failed during a descent.
The sole survivor, Anton Tselykh, trekked to a town to call for help after the fall.
Investigators are examining the anchor point and if it was pre-placed.
Irigireddy was remembered as an experienced climber and a leader at Fluke Corporation.
