India Upgrades Car Nicobar Air Base
India is making its Car Nicobar Air Base stronger.
They are fixing the runway so more planes can use it.
This base is very important because it watches over a busy sea route called the Malacca Strait.
After the fixes, big fighter jets like the Su-30 MKI will use this base.
These jets will help India be ready for any problems in the area.
The base will also help with testing missiles.
This makes India's military stronger in the east.
India is upgrading the runway at Car Nicobar Air Base to enhance its eastern military posture.
The upgraded runway will be inaugurated by General Anil Chauhan on January 2, 2026.
The base overlooks the strategic Malacca Strait, a key global maritime choke point.
Improvements include expanded apron areas and a new taxi track for higher aircraft density and faster turnaround times.
Su-30 MKI fighter jets and Mirage aircraft will operate from the base, conducting long-range exercises to sharpen combat readiness.
