Maharashtra to Develop 147 MSRTC Properties in PPP Mode

Maharashtra to Develop 147 MSRTC Properties in PPP Mode

Maharashtra is a big state in India, and it has a huge bus company called MSRTC.

Every day, about 5.5 million people ride its buses.

Many of the bus stations are very old — some are more than 40 years old.

The government wants to build new, modern bus stations.

To pay for this, it will ask private companies to help.

This teamwork between the government and private companies is called a Public-Private Partnership.

The plan will make 147 bus stations and other buildings nicer.

There will be clean waiting areas, offices, hospitals, cinemas and even charging points for electric buses.

The private companies pay for the building work, but the government keeps owning the land.

The government hopes this will make passengers happy and bring in money to improve the bus company.
