NGT Orders Demolition of Aksa Beach Promenade
Imagine a beach and a walkway built on it.
Some people said the walkway broke the rules.
The NGT, a special court, agreed.
They said the walkway wasn't allowed and has to be taken down in two months.
The court said that a barrier to stop the beach from eroding was okay to keep.
It all started because someone built the walkway without permission.
The people who wanted the walkway gone felt it would damage the beach.
The NGT ordered the removal of the promenade on Aksa Beach.
The promenade was built by the Maharashtra Maritime Board (MMB).
The NGT found that the promenade violated CRZ rules.
The MMB claimed the project was an anti-sea erosion measure.
The promenade must be removed within two months.
