SEBI Bans Avadhut Sathe and Firm
SEBI, which is like the boss of the stock market in India, has banned a financial influencer named Avadhut Sathe, his company ASTAPL, and Gouri Sathe from the stock market.
They are not allowed to work in the stock market anymore.
SEBI says they collected a lot of money from people by promising to teach them how to trade stocks, but they were actually giving advice on which stocks to buy and sell without having the proper permission.
SEBI thinks they made a lot of money unfairly, around ₹546 crore, and they have to give that money back.
They also can't show off how much money they or their students made from trading.
SEBI did a big investigation and found out that they were not being honest with the people who trusted them.
They also told people to take loans to pay for their courses.
SEBI gave them 21 days to respond to the order.
SEBI banned Avadhut Sathe, ASTAPL, and Gouri Sathe from the securities market.
They were ordered to disgorge ₹546 crore, alleged to be unlawful gains.
ASTAPL and Sathe collected ₹601.37 crore from over 3.37 lakh investors.
They were providing unregistered investment advisory and research analyst services.
SEBI directed them to cease all unregistered activities and not to advertise performance or profits.
