Maruti Suzuki Plans EV Localization
Maruti Suzuki, a big car company in India, is planning to make electric vehicle (EV) parts in India instead of importing them.
They want to do this over the next few years to make EVs more popular.
Their first electric car, the e VITARA, will come out next year.
By 2030, they plan to have five electric car models and set up 100,000 charging stations all over India.
They are also setting up special workshops for EVs and have already set up 2,000 charging points.
The company wants to make people feel more confident about buying EVs by improving the whole system around them, like charging stations and after-sales service.
They have already started exporting their electric cars to other countries.
Maruti Suzuki plans to localize EV components over the next few years.
The company's first EV, e VITARA, will launch in 2024.
By FY30, Maruti Suzuki aims to have five EV models and 13-15% EV penetration.
The company plans to set up 1 lakh charging stations by 2030.
Maruti Suzuki is focusing on improving the EV ecosystem, including after-sales service and resale value.
