Bridgestone Sues Bankrupt Go First Over Missing Tyres
A tire company called Bridgestone is suing the now-bankrupt airline Go First because the airline didn't return about 1,400 tires.
Bridgestone had rented these tires to Go First for a monthly fee.
The deal was, the tires weren't sold to Go First.
After Go First went bankrupt, the airline was supposed to give the tires back, but it didn't.
Bridgestone is asking the court to let them get their tires back, as they shouldn't be part of the airline's bankruptcy assets.
The legal battle is ongoing, with the next hearing scheduled for October, as Bridgestone wants to recoup its losses from the missing tires.
Bridgestone is suing Go First over 1,400 missing tyres.
The tyres were leased, not sold, under a 2019 agreement.
The lease expired in October 2024, with Go First failing to return the tyres.
Bridgestone's Thailand subsidiary filed a petition with the NCLT in Delhi.
The NCLT has scheduled the next hearing for October 9, 2024.
