Cyber Fraud Racket Busted in Delhi
Two people were tricked by fraudsters on WhatsApp.
The fraudsters added them to groups and promised them lots of money if they invested in shares.
One person, Dr. Amita Garg, lost ₹22.7 lakh, and a couple from Thane lost ₹21.9 lakh.
The fraudsters showed fake profits and then blocked the victims from withdrawing their money.
The police caught two men from Haryana who were involved in the scam.
The police found out that the fraudsters used fake promises to trick people and then took their money.
Dr. Amita Garg and a Thane couple were duped of ₹22.7 lakh and ₹21.9 lakh respectively in a share trading scam on WhatsApp.
The fraudsters added victims to groups like 'Bull Market Guide Community' and 'Stan Chart Dialogue Forum L7' and promised high returns.
Victims were unable to withdraw their invested money and were blocked from the app after investing.
The Delhi Police busted the cyber fraud syndicate and arrested two men from Haryana, Sameer and Dev Singh.
The accused used multiple bank accounts and SIM cards to carry out the scam and were charged under cheating and IT Act provisions.
