Maharashtra Digitizes Farmer Accident Assistance Scheme
The Maharashtra government has made a special program for farmers called the Gopinath Munde Shetkari Apghat Suraksha Sanugrah Yojana completely digital.
This program helps farmers who get hurt or die in farm accidents.
Now, farmers can apply for help online instead of going to the office.
The government gives money to families if a farmer dies or gets badly hurt.
The money goes directly to their bank account.
This new digital system is faster and helps more farmers get the support they need.
The Maharashtra government has digitized the Gopinath Munde Shetkari Apghat Suraksha Sanugrah Yojana, allowing farmers to apply online for financial assistance.
The scheme provides Rs 2 lakh for accidental death and Rs 1 lakh for permanent disability due to farm accidents.
Applications are now processed through the MahaDBT portal, making the process faster and more transparent.
The state has allocated Rs 120 crore for the scheme in 2025-26, with Rs 88.19 crore already disbursed to 4,359 farmers.
