Ratlam Leads Madhya Pradesh With 92.4% Newborn Discharge Rate

Ratlam has reported a high discharge rate for babies treated in its Special Newborn Care Unit.

Health department data from April onward puts the rate at 92.4%, the highest reported in Madhya Pradesh.

That is 7.2 percentage points above the state average.

The unit is in the Mother and Child Hospital.

It looks after newborns who need extra medical help, such as babies born early or with low birth weight.

It also treats babies with infections, jaundice or breathing problems.

Doctors and trained staff watch the babies closely and provide care suited to their condition.

These units help provide timely treatment to very sick newborns.
