CISF to Increase Strength, Focus on New Industrial Hubs
The government is making the CISF, which protects important places like airports and power plants, bigger.
The CISF is getting more people to protect new factories being built in areas where there was a lot of fighting in the past.
They are going from around 162,000 people to 220,000.
They will hire many new people each year to help keep these places safe and add more security to protect important infrastructure.
The plan is for them to eliminate Left wing extremism from the country by March 2026.
The Ministry of Home Affairs increased the CISF's authorized strength to 220,000 personnel.
The force will be deployed at new industrial hubs, especially those in formerly Naxal-affected areas.
Recruitment includes 13,230 personnel in 2024 and 24,098 in 2025.
CISF's role includes securing aviation, ports, and power plants.
The CISF plans to add 14,000 personnel annually until reaching the new strength.
