Abraham Adeyemi Taps Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù & Deborah Ayorinde for Feature Adaptation of ‘Chasing The Night’
Imagine a filmmaker named Abraham Adeyemi made a short movie about two former lovers, Fatima and Leon, who meet for dinner and spend the night talking.
The actors who played Fatima and Leon, Deborah Ayorinde and Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù, really liked the story.
They both thought it would make a great longer movie.
So, Abraham, Deborah, and Ṣọpẹ́ spent three days together brainstorming ideas.
Abraham then wrote a script for a full-length movie called 'Chasing The Night.'
This new movie will still be about Fatima and Leon but will be set in Athens, Greece.
While it will have hints for fans of the short film, it can be watched as a new story.
Abraham is excited to make it and hopes the same actors can star in it, but knows it depends on the movie industry saying yes.
Abraham Adeyemi is adapting his short film ‘Chasing The Night’ into a feature-length movie.
Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù and Deborah Ayorinde, who starred in the original short, are expected to be involved in the feature adaptation.
The feature film will be set in Athens, Greece, a change from the original short film's London setting.
Adeyemi wrote the screenplay for the feature adaptation, collaborating with Dìrísù and Ayorinde to develop the story.
The project is recognized on The Brit List 2025, highlighting emerging UK film and TV projects.
