Woman Dies by Suicide After Dowry Demands in Madurai
Priyadarshini, a 28-year-old woman, sadly took her own life in Madurai.
She was married to Rubanraj, and her family says she was constantly harassed for more gold.
When she married Rubanraj, her family gave him 150 gold pieces, but they couldn't afford the 150 more that were asked for.
Because of this, Priyadarshini moved back in with her parents because of all the pressure.
Then, when she learned her husband's family was planning a second marriage for him, she took her own life by consuming poison.
Police are now investigating the case based on her parents' complaint.
