Nadda urges Jharkhand, Odisha MPs to boost TB elimination drive

Tuberculosis, or TB, is a sickness that usually affects the lungs and can make people very ill.

India wants to completely get rid of TB, and the country's health minister asked some leaders to help.

He met with members of Parliament from two Indian states, Jharkhand and Odisha.

He asked them to help find people who are sick and make sure they get treatment early.

The government ran a special 100-day programme to look for TB in people who are most at risk.

During that programme, they checked more than 2.2 crore, or 22 million, people.

They found more than seven lakh new patients, including some who did not feel sick at all.

India is making good progress, because fewer people are getting TB now than in the past.

There are now many more machines to test for TB, including special X-ray machines that use artificial intelligence.

The leaders promised to spread awareness and support people affected by TB so India can become TB-free.
