SAI Parenteral’s Acquires 74.6% Stake in Noumed Pharmaceuticals
SAI Parenteral’s, a big Indian medicine company, has bought most of Noumed Pharmaceuticals, an Australian company that makes over-the-counter medicines.
They paid ₹125 crore for 74.6% of Noumed.
Noumed sells medicines to stores in Australia and New Zealand and is building a new factory.
SAI Parenteral’s wants to use Noumed’s research and selling power to grow bigger and sell more medicines around the world.
Both companies are happy because they think working together will help them sell more medicines.
SAI Parenteral’s is also planning to sell some of its shares to the public soon.
SAI Parenteral’s Ltd (SPL) acquired 74.6% stake in Noumed Pharmaceuticals Pty Ltd for ₹125 crore.
Noumed is an Australian company with AU$60 million revenue, supplying OTC products to pharmacy chains in Australia and New Zealand.
Noumed is building a AU$53 million manufacturing facility in Adelaide, expected to start operations in Q4 2026.
The acquisition aims to combine Noumed’s R&D, distribution, and dossier library with SPL’s capabilities to create synergies.
SPL is backed by investors like Samarsh Capital and has filed its IPO DRHP with SEBI for ₹285 crore fresh issue and 35 lakh equity shares offer for sale.
