NFR and IIT Guwahati Collaborate to Replace Plastic with Eco-Friendly Materials
The Northeast Frontier Railway is teaming up with IIT Guwahati to ditch plastic.
They're starting by using bags made of stuff that breaks down easily in compost instead of regular plastic.
This new plan starts on August 15 and will bring eco-friendly bags to 25 trains, giving out almost 40,000 bags.
This change helps India's plan to get rid of plastic trash, with the railway leading the way.
They hope this change will lead to less waste and a cleaner environment for everyone, by partnering with the IIT Guwahati to provide sustainable solutions.
