Andhra Pradesh Accelerates Clean Energy Projects While Strengthening Power Supply

Andhra Pradesh is working to provide people with steady electricity.

Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar said the state is moving quickly toward cleaner energy.

Projects that could produce 100 gigawatts of power are being put into action.

Low water-powered electricity because of El Niño means the state is relying more on thermal and solar power.

The power company installed 100,000 rooftop solar systems in six months.

The state also plans to hire 629 assistant engineers.

Solar power for farm feeders is being expanded so farmers can get nine hours of electricity during the day.

Officials also want to improve the power network and make unsafe lines safer.
