Delhi Faces Severe Air Pollution
Delhi is experiencing very bad air quality, with some areas having 'Severe' air pollution.
The air quality index (AQI) in Delhi is 414, which is in the 'Severe' category.
Some places like Anand Vihar, Nehru Nagar, and Okhla Phase 2 have even higher AQI numbers, reaching up to 466.
The bad air is making it hard for people to breathe, especially for kids, old people, and those with health problems.
The dense fog is also making it hard to see, causing problems at the airport and train stations.
The government is taking steps to improve the air quality by closing polluting industries and cleaning the streets.
They are also processing waste to reduce pollution.
The bad air and fog are expected to continue for a few more days.
Delhi's average AQI was 414, placing it in the 'Severe' category.
Several areas, including Anand Vihar, Nehru Nagar, and Okhla Phase 2, reported 'Severe' air quality with AQIs ranging from 452 to 466.
The dense fog reduced visibility, prompting Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport to issue multiple advisories and warnings of possible disruptions.
The Delhi government has intensified its crackdown on polluting industries and other sources of air pollution as part of a multi-layered strategy to improve air quality in the capital.
The Delhi Pollution Control Committee has ordered the closure of 411 industrial units found operating without mandatory consent and causing visible air and water pollution across the national capital.
