BJP Accuses Mamata Banerjee of Dividing Bengal
The BJP has accused West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of trying to divide the state and protect Bangladeshi and Rohingya infiltrators.
BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra claimed that Banerjee is obstructing the Special Intensive Review (SIR) of electoral rolls and inciting violence to stop the process.
He alleged that the demographic composition of certain districts has changed due to illegal immigration.
Banerjee, on the other hand, has denied these allegations and accused the BJP of using central agencies like the ED and CBI for political ends.
She has also urged the Chief Justice of India to protect the Constitution and democracy from being targeted by agencies.
The Supreme Court has issued a notice to Banerjee and the West Bengal government for allegedly obstructing ED raids.
