Adhikari Challenges Banerjee's Development Claims in Malda
Suvendu Adhikari, a big leader in West Bengal, spoke in Malda where many people follow different religions.
He said Hindus should stick together because India is their only country.
He opened a big gate with a Hindu god's picture.
Many other important people from his party were there.
He also talked about some workers who died and wants an investigation.
The next day, the Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, was going to speak in Malda.
She unveiled a report card of her government's achievements over the last 15 years.
She said her government created many jobs and helped poor families.
She also talked about different schemes that helped people.
Adhikari disagreed with her claims and said the government did not create enough jobs and did not keep its promises.
He also talked about problems like flooding and erosion in some areas.
Both leaders are trying to get people to vote for their parties in the upcoming elections.
Suvendu Adhikari called for Hindu unity in Malda, where minorities make up over 52% of the population.
He inaugurated a 35-foot-high gate featuring a Hanuman idol at a temple in Malda town.
