Taliban Executes Man Before Crowd of Thousands
The Taliban in Afghanistan made a 13-year-old boy shoot a man who was convicted of killing 13 of the boy's family members.
This happened in a big sports stadium in front of a huge crowd of about 80,000 people.
The man was sentenced to death under a rule called Qisas, which means 'an eye for an eye.'
The United Nations said this was very cruel.
The Taliban have been doing more public punishments like this since they took control of Afghanistan in 2021.
They have also been making life very hard for women and girls by not letting them go to school or work.
The Taliban oversaw a public execution in Khost province, Afghanistan, where a 13-year-old boy shot a man convicted of killing 13 of his relatives.
The execution took place in a packed sports stadium with an estimated crowd of 80,000 people.
The man, identified as Mangal, was sentenced under Qisas, a Sharia-based principle of retributive justice.
The victim's family had the option to forgive the killer but insisted on the death sentence.
This was at least the 11th execution carried out by the Taliban since they reinstated public punishments under their strict interpretation of Sharia law.
