Sanskrit Leads Punjabi in Chandigarh's Language Summer Camps
Imagine a summer camp where kids learn new languages!
In Chandigarh schools, Sanskrit became the most popular choice, even beating out Punjabi, which is spoken nearby.
The camps, part of a nationwide program, let kids explore languages they don't usually learn in class.
Many kids chose Sanskrit, showing their interest in India's many languages.
Even languages like Tamil, which aren't as common there, were a hit.
The goal is to get kids excited about different cultures and languages, with plans for clubs to keep the learning going.
Sanskrit was the most popular language choice in Chandigarh government schools' summer camps.
Punjabi was the second most popular language, followed by Bengali.
Tamil surprisingly drew a high turnout, especially at GHS Maloya Colony.
