Parliament Monsoon Session ends amid Amit Shah-Opposition deadlock

India's Parliament has an important meeting time called the Monsoon Session.

This year, it is ending after lots of arguments between the ruling party and opposition parties.

The opposition wanted to talk about a protest where police were accused of being too rough with students at a place called Jantar Mantar.

They also wanted the Home Minister, Mr. Amit Shah, to explain what happened.

Mr. Shah said the government was ready to talk, but the opposition said he was hiding because he had stayed away for 20 days.

The opposition leader, Rahul Gandhi, said the Home Minister was not brave enough to speak in Parliament.

The ruling party said it was the opposition that kept running away from discussions.

Even with all the arguing, Parliament still passed many new laws, including one to rename the state of Kerala as Keralam.

A report also said that almost three out of four students in India quit school before finishing higher secondary.
