AIFF Offers Discounted Seats for India-Brazil Kolkata Friendly
India’s football team will play Panama, Brazil and Uruguay in a special set of matches.
The Brazil match will be held in Kolkata on October 3.
Many regular tickets for that game were sold out, so the AIFF is arranging more than 14,000 cheaper tickets.
Fans of Mohun Bagan, East Bengal and Mohammedan Sporting can get them through areas set up by their clubs.
The IFA will help decide how the tickets are shared.
The seats are behind the two goals in the B2 and D2 sections of the stadium.
The AIFF also wants Fan Parks in other districts so more people can watch together.
A Brazilian inspection team said Kolkata’s preparations were very positive, while officials continue improving the pitch.
The AIFF will make more than 14,000 discounted seats available to supporters of Mohun Bagan, East Bengal and Mohammedan Sporting.
The seats are in the B2 and D2 middle-tier sections behind both goalposts at Kolkata’s Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan.
The Indian Football Association will manage allocations, while the three clubs will arrange sales at dedicated areas on their premises.
India is scheduled to play Panama in Bengaluru on September 25, Brazil in Kolkata on October 3 and Uruguay in Kolkata on October 6.
The AIFF is proposing district Fan Parks, while a Brazilian Football Confederation delegation gave a positive report on Kolkata’s preparations.

Concerns and Skepticism
A source cited by Telegraph India suggested the discounted allocation could reflect a lukewarm response, possibly because October is a major festival month in Bengal and tickets may be expensive for middle-class supporters.
AIFF’s Position
AIFF president Kalyan Chaubey said the response had been good and pointed to Brazil’s prominent players as a reason for confidence in demand.
