India Launches Biofoundry Network for Biotech Growth
India is starting a new program called the Biofoundry Network with 21 centers across the country.
These centers are like shared labs where scientists and companies can work together to create new things using biology.
They will focus on making new medicines, better food, and sustainable products, which will help the economy grow.
The goal is to make India a leader in biotechnology, create jobs, and reach a $300 billion bioeconomy by 2030.
The Biofoundry Network aims to transform India's biotechnology landscape.
It was launched by the DBT and BIRAC under the BioE3 Policy.
The network comprises 21 bio-enabler facilities across India.
It will support technologies in areas like sustainable agriculture and cell therapies.
The initiative targets a $300 billion bioeconomy by 2030.
