Sarpanch Candidates Must Open Dedicated Bank Accounts
In Gadwal, the District Expenditure Observer Rajesh Babu has said that all candidates in the upcoming village leader elections must open a special bank account just for their election spending.
This account is to keep track of all the money they spend during the elections.
The rules say how much money they can spend based on how many people live in their village.
For bigger villages, the limit is higher, and for smaller villages, it's lower.
The candidates must keep a detailed record of every expense.
This is to make sure the elections are fair and everyone follows the rules.
Officials also got training on how to monitor these expenses.
Sarpanch and Ward member candidates must open dedicated bank accounts for election-related transactions.
Expenditure limits vary based on village population: ₹2.50 lakh for Sarpanch in villages with over 5,000 people, ₹1.50 lakh for smaller villages.
Candidates must maintain detailed records of all expenses from nomination to election results.
Training was conducted for Assistant Expenditure Observers on monitoring election expenditure.
The initiative aims to ensure transparency and fairness in the electoral process.
