UMANG Brings UAN Generation and EPFO Services to Smartphones
The UMANG app lets workers manage some provident fund services using a smartphone.
A UAN is a number that connects a worker’s PF accounts from different jobs.
People joining the EPF system can use the app to create a new UAN.
People who already have an inactive UAN can activate it through the app.
Users provide their Aadhaar and mobile details and receive an OTP.
They also complete a face scan to prove their identity.
After activation, they can check their PF balance, download a passbook, and track claims.
They can also use digital services for KYC-related tasks.
If something goes wrong, such as an incorrect detail or failed OTP, they can retry or contact support.
The UMANG app allows EPFO members to generate, activate, and authenticate their Universal Account Number.
New users need an Aadhaar number, Aadhaar-linked mobile number, and the Aadhaar Face RD application.
Users complete OTP verification and Aadhaar-based face authentication through their smartphones.
Activated UAN holders can check EPF balances, download passbooks, track claims, and manage KYC services.
UMANG also supports face authentication for already activated UANs and updates verified details in EPFO records.
