Delhi Mayor Urges Citizens to Avail Property Tax Amnesty Scheme 2025-26
The Delhi Mayor has asked all property owners to use the Property Tax Amnesty Scheme 2025-26.
This scheme, called SUNIYO, lets people pay their property tax without extra fees for old dues.
If they pay the main tax for the years 2020-21 to 2025-26, they won't have to pay extra charges for taxes before 2020-21.
The scheme was extended to January 31, 2026, with a small late fee.
Many people have already used this scheme, paying a lot of tax money.
The Mayor says this has helped collect more taxes and get more people to pay their taxes.
It's a good chance for people to clear their old tax bills without extra costs.
Delhi Mayor urges property owners to avail the Property Tax Amnesty Scheme 2025-26 (SUNIYO) for waivers on property tax, interest, and penalties.
Taxpayers can waive taxes, interest, and penalties prior to FY 2020-21 by paying the principal amount for FY 2020-21 to 2024-25.
The scheme is extended until 31st January 2026 with a 5% late fee.
1,66,587 taxpayers have benefited, paying Rs 803.61 crore, including Rs 312.45 crore from 90,139 new taxpayers.
Total tax collection for the current year (including SUNIYO) is Rs 2,642.80 crore, a 42.1% increase over the corresponding period.
